After countless transactions, Edith can say there are no boring moments when you’re a Realtor®. It is hard and demanding work but also an interesting and rewarding career. Having completed her business degree, at a time when there were only five women in the UBC Sauder School of Business, Edith stood out as an accomplished business person right from the get go.
She was the first woman hired at Kraft Canada’s marketing department, but after eight years Edith left the corporate world to begin a career as a Realtor® in 1982. Born into a family of hardworking farmers, the discussions around her family’s kitchen table with the neighbouring farmers intrigued her. Farmers were business people, talking about politics, business, risk, and expenses. Like them, she was determined to work at something she could grow. She had lots of creative ideas and she wanted her own business.
Edith likes the autonomy of being a Realtor®. She’s also aware that her success is directly tied to how much she puts into her business. Just like when she grew up, Edith’s children were exposed to the inner operations of a small business – often attending open houses, delivering her real estate flyers, and handing out poinsettias at Christmas. When her son Jonathan asked to join her in the real estate industry, Edith was thrilled. Jonathan had also gone to university, worked in the business world, but had chosen to enter real estate knowing full well what to expect given his upbringing. The Katronis Team was born!
Edith has since handpicked each individual member of the Katronis Team based on the individual’s attributes, ethics, and hardworking attitude. A team in her mind means you work together and you do your very best for every client. According to Edith, “the reason the Katronis Team is ranked #1 of all Real Estate Teams in the Fraser Valley is because we help one another in our office. We are not in competition and this is what makes us unique.”
